TVCC rolls to 43-13 win over Cisco

Cardinals improve to 4-1 on the year.

The TVCC Cardinals opened up a 17-0 first quarter lead against Cisco Saturday night and cruised to a 46-13 win.

The Cardinals simply overwhelmed Cisco on both sides of the ball.

For the fifth straight game, the Cardinal defense held the opponent under 14 points. Offensively, the return of quarterback Jeremy Hunt sparked TVCC and allowed the Cardinals to put up nearly 700 yards.

Athens comes from behind to beat Bullard, 42-35

Hornets converted on two big 4th down plays when it really mattered.

The Athens Hornets came from behind to beat Bullard Friday night, 42-35.

With 1:23 left before halftime, Bullard led Athens 28-14. From that point on, however, the Hornets outscored the Panthers 29-7 and found the end zone on four consecutive possessions.

Coach Zac Harrell has said multiple times his staff consider third and fourth down conversions the key to the game, and that proved to be true Friday.

Cardinals stumble on the road and fall to Blinn, 10-6.

TVCC can’t overcome four turnovers in loss.

BRENHAM — The Cardinals came up inches short of being undefeated Saturday night.

After committing all the turnovers. After losing yet another quarterback to injury. After watching the referees take away what looked like a key interception by the Cardinal defense. And after Murphy wreaked havoc on their game plan, the Cardinals still had a chance to beat Blinn on the road Saturday night.

They had first and goal at the 5 and then had two shots from inside the one yard line with less than a minute left, but could not punch it in and Blinn escaped with a 10-6 win over TVCC.

Athens runs past Ferris, 52-29

The Hornets rush for nearly 500 yards as offense powers Athens to 3-1 record.

The Hornet offense exploded Friday night, powering Athens to a 52-29 homecoming win over Ferris.

Athens rushed for nearly 500 yards on the night and scored touchdowns on seven of its first eight possessions of the game.

The Hornets never punted in the game and were so dominate they only face six third-down situations all night, and they converted four of those.
